Constitutional referendum in Belarus: Turnout at 14.53% after two days of early voting

During two days of early voting for the constitutional referendum in Belarus, some 14.53% of eligible voters cast their ballots, BelTA learned from the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus.

An estimated 14.98% of voters took advantage of the early voting opportunity in Brest Oblast. The turnout in Vitebsk Oblast stood at 14.55%, in Gomel Oblast at 17.86%, in Grodno Oblast at 10.89%, in Minsk Oblast at 14.88%, in Mogilev Oblast at 15.10% and in the city of Minsk at 12.80%.

Early voting for the constitutional referendum will be running through 26 February. Polling stations are open from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. A voter does not have to provide an excuse to vote early.

The Central Election Commission recalls that voters who want to cast their ballots at the precinct where they reside instead of the precinct where they are registered need to present a proof of residence. A precinct commission will consider each case individually.
