Advancement of Belarus’ cooperation with Russia’s Amur Oblast, Sakhalin Oblast discussed

A videoconference session of Belarusian parts of the working groups in charge of advancing cooperation of Belarus with Russia’s Amur Oblast and Sakhalin Oblast took place at premises of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, BelTA has learned.

Amur Oblast and Sakhalin Oblast are important partners of Belarus in Russia’s Far East. Cooperation with these regions advances despite the large geographical distance from Belarus. Sessions of the joint working groups with the leadership of these Russian regions were organized last year. Protocols of instructions and event schedules for the 2021-2023 period were signed. Sessions of the Belarusian parts of the working groups were also organized early this year.

The Agriculture and Food Ministry press service noted that in January-August 2022 export to Amur Oblast rose by 3.4 times while export to Sakhalin Oblast went up by 2.2 times.
