PM comments on Belarus' social, economic development targets for 2024

The forecast for the next year aims to ensure sustainable economic growth and to improve the well-being of people, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during a meeting in the Oval Hall of the Government House with members of the House of Representatives and members of the Council of the Republic to consider the draft laws "On the national budget 2024" and "On amendments to the Tax Code of the Republic of Belarus", BelTA has learned.

"The forecast for the next year aims to ensure sustainable economic growth and higher well-being of the population. These are our traditional basic things. Let me remind you that the presidential decree [for 2024 ] has already established the relevant targets for the government: gross domestic product growth - 3.8%, growth of real disposable household income - 3.5%, capital investment - 3.9%, growth in exports of goods and services - 7.6%," Roman Golovchenko said.

According to him, these targets have been defined as resultant in the context of resource mobilization and the formation of an economy of development in the face of sanctions "They serve as the basic parameters for the the draft budget and the monetary policy," the prime minister said.

"The projected economic growth exceeds the average in the world economy and the expected GDP growth of the Russian Federation, our main trade and economic partner," Roman Golovchenko added.
